WebWarper / Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.) / Web-publishers' questions

Will banners and counters work properly on pages viewed via WebWarper?

Probably yes.

But a problem with "back address" (referrer) can occur. Some companies may consider that impressions of a banner or counter are inoperative (incorrect), if it is placed on a domain different from that one, which was specified by you while registration. But if a page is viewed via WebWarper, it's domain address (received by banner or counter script) become "webwarper.net".

To avoid this problem, it is enough to always place banners or counters of third party companies at separate pages, and to show them by means of IFRAME tag. It's also necessary to block WebWarper-optimization of IFRAME tags: see "How to disable WebWarper-optimization for some parts of the site?"

Please note: some popular advertising companies, unfortunately, offer banners with viruses sometimes (in form of ActiveX)! If you want to prevent your visitors from such viruses, then, contrariwise, it's very useful to process such ads by WebWarper in antivirus mode. Of course, you don't need to block optimization of IFRAME tag in this case. You should only make sure that advertisement, processed by WebWarper, works correctly (continues to carry profit).
